Vale of Glamorgan Ramblers
Vale of Glamorgan Ramblers are a fairly small, but active and friendly group based in the attractive rural Vale of Glamorgan area. Our walks programme is varied, taking advantage of our central South Wales location. From our meeting place in Cowbridge or Pontyclun, we are within an hour of beautiful walking areas such as the Gower, Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Neath Valley and we respect the environment by meeting centrally and sharing cars. Rambling is a great way to stay fit and active, meet like-minded people and connect with the great outdoors. Please have a look at our walks programme and come walk with us.
Formed in April 1996, Valeways is a unique voluntary environmental organisation which supports a diverse range of volunteers to re-open and promote the Vale of Glamorgan’s glorious countryside.
Visit their website to find a range of local walks and trails. Also run an annual walking festival in the Vale, with many walks starting in Cowbridge, at the end of May.
Walking in the St Hilary Area
St Hilary is a pretty village just a mile outside of Cowbridge. There are 9 well documented walks from the popular local pub – The Bush Inn. The walks are featured in the St Hilary Community website.
